Modern aluminium smelting and downstream processing are heavily automated — pot control systems manage the electrolysis process, casthouse automation controls casting parameters, and plant-wide SCADA provides production visibility. The GCC's aluminium sector is upgrading legacy control systems as part of broader digitalisation programmes. We supply automation hardware and assist with control system upgrades.

What we supply

• Pot control computers (PCC) and individual pot control systems for smelter lines
• Aluminium point feeder systems — pneumatic alumina feeding with precise control
• Casthouse automation — metal level control, casting speed, water flow regulation
• Plant SCADA systems — historian, reporting, energy monitoring
• Process analytical instruments — online alumina concentration, bath temperature
• HMI workstations, operator panels, and engineering stations
• Dross processing automation — dross press control systems

How the project proceeds

1. Assess the existing automation baseline and define the upgrade or new installation scope
2. Select control system platform and instrumentation; prepare integration plan
3. Source hardware; co-ordinate with the cell technology licensor's automation requirements
4. Support system integration, FAT, site installation, and startup

Why Infinity

Smelter automation is technically constrained by the cell technology licence — the pot control system must comply with the licensor's requirements. We supply the hardware elements that fall outside the licensed scope and co-ordinate with the technology provider on the boundary of supply.
