Casting & Rolling

EGA's downstream ambitions and the broader GCC's push to add value to primary aluminium production are driving investment in casting and rolling capacity. Rolled aluminium products — sheet, plate, strip, and foil — are consumed in packaging, automotive, construction, and aerospace applications. We supply equipment for the full casting and rolling process chain.

What we supply

• DC (direct chill) casting machines for ingot and billet production
• Homogenising furnaces for cast ingot heat treatment
• Hot rolling mills — reversing and tandem for slab and plate production
• Cold rolling mills — single and multi-stand for sheet and coil
• Foil rolling mills and slitters for aluminium foil production
• Annealing furnaces — batch and continuous for intermediate and final anneal
• Coil handling equipment — payoffs, recoilers, tension reels, coil cars

How the project proceeds

1. Define the product range, target gauge, and production capacity
2. Select rolling mill technology and equipment configuration; engage qualified mill builder
3. Manage procurement of mill equipment and ancillaries; co-ordinate delivery schedule
4. Support mill installation commissioning and product qualification trials
